Employment Agencies

Employment agencies assist to:

• connect those with disabilities to find work they would enjoy
• work with participants before, during and after they have found work. 

Nursing

Nursing will be funded for NDIS for various areas:

•  if the nursing needs is related to one's disability
• nursing can also be used to provide training to support workers to assist with areas such as stoma care, wound care etc 

In Home Carers

Support workers / In Home Carers assist with:

•  personal care
•  home care
•  shopping
• community participation
• attending medical appointments
• social outings
  

Physiotherapist

• conduct assessments and train support workers
• physiotherapists assists you to develop skills to increase one's independence and meet your NDIS goals
  

Occupational Therapist

Occupational Therapists (OT) provide: 

• assessments and feedback to meet your NDIS goals
• support people whose disability makes it hard for them to do the things they would like to do
• identify one's strengths and difficulties
• discuss solutions, and help people (participant, family and support workers) to take part in everyday life through strategies or the use of equipment

Social and Community Programs

NDIS fund support workers who can take you to social and community programs. These community programs may consist of: 

• holiday programs 
• activities at the local library
• activities in the community such as movie groups, lunch groups, day outing groups
• attend activities such as hydrotherapy or 
• community events with family and / or support worker 
• participate in a sporting activity - for example, lawn bowls, football etc

Continence Nurses

• provide expert care and advice to patients with urinary and/or faecal incontinence
• they conduct an assessment, a limited physical examination and develop a plan of care products to be utilised
• once you have had this assessment and it is deemed that your disability is related to continence issues, NDIS can cover payment of continence aides

Podiatry

Podiatrists provide:

• general podiatry care
• medical grade footwear
• compression socks
• orthotics and orthosis
• diabetic care and wound care

Exercise Physiology

Exercise Physiologists:

• treat patients using clinical exercise as their main modality
• focus on behavioural change and self-management concepts

Speech Pathologist

Speech Pathologists work with: 

• speech-language and independence building 
• a wide range of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
• conducting assessments and working with language and communication
• work with participants affected by a variety of neurological events, such as brain damage, stroke, seizure, or cancer

Dietetics

Dietitians assist with:

• assessments and consultations to develop  a nutritional meal plan and / or strategies to manage appropriate dietary intake for weight gain or loss
• implementing a nutritional care plan via support workers if required
• regular reviews to ensure dietary needs are being met
